This story is from Nyikina Country in the Kimberley in Western Australia. Senior Nyikina Cultural Custodian Annie Nayina Milgin shared this important Creation story ’Woonyoomboo :The Night Heron’. ‘Woonyoomboo :The Night Heron’ was traditionally spoken in Nyikina language, it is told here in both English and Nyikina, language work by Annie Nayina Milgin and Colleen Hattersley. All illustrations were produced by First Nations young people at Jarlmadangah Independent School in Jarlmadangah Community.
