Synopsis

This story is from Ndjebbana Country in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. Senior Nyikina Cultural Custodians Debbie Mabbindja, Alisdair Djalolbu James and Joseph Diddo shared this important Creation story ’Middjarn :Turtle Dreaming’ . ’Middjarn :Turtle Dreaming’ was traditionally spoken in Ndjebbana language, it is told here in both English and Ndjebbana, language work by Rebecca Green and Julie Fraser with Alisdair Djalolbu James, Henry Wilton, Monica Wilton, Rita Djitmu and Rachel Djibbama Thomas. All illustrations were produced by First Nations young people at Maningrida School in Maningrida Community.
