This story is from Ngaanyatjarra Country in the Gibson Desert in Western Australia. Senior Ngaanyatjarra Cultural Custodian Gerald Porter shared this important Creation story ’The Sunbird’. ’The Sunbird’ was traditionally spoken in Ngaanyatjarra language, it is told here in both English and Ngaanyatjarra, language work by Gerald Porter and Charlie Staples with assistance from Amee Glass and Dorothy Hackett. All illustrations were produced by First Nations young people at Warburton Campus, Ngaanyatjarra Lands School.
