Synopsis

The Anangu of Uluru and Kata Tjuta was written in collaboration with the Anangu people of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the Northern Territory. Anangu cared for country for tens of thousands of years but Europeans failed to recognise the indigenous people as rightful owners and took their land. In this book members of the Anangu community share knowledge relating to traditions that are thousands of years old and how the community have regained ownership of their land and now work with non-Aboriginal people to manage Country so that Anangu can continue to care for Country ‘right way’ and tourists are able to visit with an understanding of cultural sensitivities.
