Mermaid and the Serpent
The Mermaid and the Serpent story tells of the travels of two mermaids, the country they created and the 'baby dreaming' they carried.
Mermaid and the Serpent is part of the first six book series of Sharing Our Stories. The series was Winner of the 2009 Australian Awards for Excellence in Educational publishing and won Best Primary Teaching and Learning Package. The series was created in collaboration with six indigenous communities, elders shared the story and information about it, children created the art work and I the photography. Art work in was created by Cyntasha Anderson, Quinton Brown, Alexandra Bush-Blanasi, Chriscilla Bush, David Bush-Blanasi and Kieran Weston.

Jarlmadangah country is located in the Kimberley region in Western Australia. Nyikina people tell here the story of their main Creation Ancestor Woonyoomboo whose journey brought into being the Fitzroy River.

The Sunbird
Warburton community is in the Ngaanyatjarra lands in the Gibson Desert in Western Australia. Members of the Warburton community share here a traditional story called The Sunbird about a maparntjarra - a magic man or 'clever'.

The Frog and the Brolga
Purnululu Aboriginal community is located in the East Kimberley in Western Australia. The Kija people here tell the story of the Frog and the Brolga, a major creation story which tells how people, law, culture and country came to be.

Turtle Dreaming
Maningrida Community is located in Arnhem land in the Northern Territory. Ndjebbana people from Maningrida told the story of the Middjarn, The Turtle Dreaming, a creation story in which a turtle sang and in his song passed down the laws, culture and customs for the Ndjebbana. The story also tells of the creation of an important reef .

Devil Devil from Warlok
Jilkminggan community is located on the Roper River in the Northern Territory . The Mangarrayi people from Jilkminggan community share a traditional story called The Devil Devil from Warlok which is an important Mangarrayi Dreamtime story traditionally told in Mangarrayi language.
