Over thirty artists including Jack Davis, Paddy Roe, Jimmy Chi, Mudrooroo Narogin, Oodgeroo Noonuccal, Archie Weller and Sally Morgan talk about their lives and work.  Aboriginal Voices was published in the early 1990's at a time when Australian history was for the first time being re-written to include an Aboriginal perspective and experience. Much of this was happening through the arts, this book charts that work and process .
